Version Activation and Telemetry Data

FormulaShare makes use of Salesforce Feature Parameters to allow Cloud Sundial to activate FormulaShare subscriptions and monitor usage relating to its features.

Feature Parameters allow for a very limited transfer of information to and from Cloud Sundial's Salesforce org (known as our "Partner Business Org") and the Salesforce instances in which FormulaShare is installed.

Feature parameters in FormulaShare are used for two purposes:

  1. Activating FormulaShare Lite, Enterprise and Unlimited in your org, or increasing or reducing FormulaShare limits applied in the org
  2. Receiving high level telemetry data from your org. This data helps us to monitor for errors encourntered during FormulaShare processing, understand how close your org is to its FormulaShare usage limits, and monitor which FormulaShare features are being used in your rules and configuration

Version activation

The use of Feature Parameters for activation of versions and changing limits allows Cloud Sundial to provision or upgrade existing installations of FormulaShare Lite to Enterprise or Unlimited.

This means at the point your org decides to purchase or upgrade FormulaShare, there's no need to reinstall or change any of your existing configuration. Switching between versions is almost instantaneous and there's generally no need to retest as the underlying architecture, configuration and automation is unchanged.

Once FormulaShare Enterprise or Unlimited has been activated for use in your org, all new installations into your production org or any of its sandboxes will receive this version automatically.

Telemetry data

Telemetry monitoring data sent from your org relates only to usage of FormulaShare itself and does not include any data from your org. The following is a complete list of all data sent from your org via feature parameters:
